The market survey announced the latest panel quotation in early March, driven by the strong operation of the panel factory and the demand for 618 stocking, the price of TV panels rose comprehensively, the price of small and medium-sized TV panels rose by about 1~2 US dollars, and the large size TV panel rose by about 3~4 US dollars, and it is estimated that the increase in the whole month can reach 2~5%.
With the price of TV panels rising, IT panel prices are also expected to stop falling in March. Fan Boyu, vice president of TrendForce Research, said that the price of main-size TV panels has increased slightly in late February, and recently saw mainland brands stocked for the next 618 promotional schedule, so the increase in March was further expanded, if you look at the whole month, it is estimated that the average monthly increase is about 2~5%. Fan Boyu said that after the Lunar New Year holiday and factory repairs, TV panel demand began to warm up, and the capacity utilization rate of panel factories in March has increased, and it is estimated that the average capacity utilization rate of global panel factories in the first quarter fell at the level of about 65~70%. However, the current panel price is still "lower than the cash cost", at this stage the panel factory goal is to pull the price back to the cash cost, so it is quite cautious to control the capacity utilization rate, it is expected that the capacity utilization rate of the panel factory will not increase significantly in the second quarter, hoping to support the panel price in April and May. After the price of TV panels has risen across the board, IT panels are expected to stop falling in March, and the subsequent price trend depends on when demand recovers. From the perspective of the monitor panel, the stock demand of the recent 618 promotion schedule has started, but the business demand in the European and American markets is still not good, and it is difficult to adjust the price to rise. As for the poor demand in the notebook terminal market, the brand has no quantitative energy to pull goods, and the panel factory is not willing to negotiate, so the price of laptop panels in March is still flat. TrendForce pointed out that due to the low number of working days and the brand's order reduction in inventory to dematerialize, notebook panel shipments in the first quarter of 2023 are estimated to be 38.7 million pieces, down 10.4% from the previous quarter and 45.6% from the same period last year. In the second quarter, as the brand's inventory gradually returned to a controllable water level and the number of working days increased, it is estimated that the shipment of notebook panels in the second quarter will be about 46.3 million pieces, with a quarterly growth rate of about 19.6%
